Both public and private subjects preserve their memory: not passive way, but in a very active and critical manner because of the nature of the archive. The course aims at introducing the basic elements for the correct management and conservation of an archive throughout the three ages: current, depositary and historical.
Contents of the course: Acts and documents. Primary sources. Reasons to conserve someone’s memory. Cultural heritage and archive. General archivistics. Life cycle of documents: from selection to permanent conservation. Instruments and methods to manage an archive. Computer protocol and the new Italian legislation in relation to documentation and archives, and many other issues concerning the programme.
