Learning outcomes

The course aims at investigating the reconstruction of a proto-language and some archaic texts through the introduction of specific texts and issues concerning the Indo-European culture. The course is also connected to those curricula that are linked to Greek and Latin language, as well as to the Glottology course.

Syllabus

Contents of the course: From Anatolia to the greek world, between the II and I millennium BC: Hattusa, Troy, Knossos. Reading, exam and linguistic comment of texts from the Hittite, Greek-archaic and Mycenaean literature in a comparative perspective.
