Learning outcomes

The module is compulsory for each curriculum in Arts and Humanities and, together with the advanced course (p) they are meant for students in their 1st year. The aim is to provide basic knowledge of the Italian language and its history; because of this the course is divided in two parts: one, descriptive and preliminary, concerning current Italian language and a second, dedicated to main events, discussions and protagonists of the past.

Syllabus

Contents of the course. General and preliminary notions, elements of the history of Italian language (aspects and variety of the current Italian language; historical profile from the Vulgar Latin to our days).
