Learning outcomes

The course aims at providing the students with awareness of the crucial event of Western civilization through the investigation of political-institutional development. The course is divided into four sections and it’ll concern: Ancient, Medieval, Modern and contemporary history.

Syllabus

Contents of the course:
Part I (prof. G. Avezzù – 12h.): Searching a happy island: utopian projection in the Ancient culture.
Part II (prof. GM. Varanini – 14h.): Utopias and millenaries in the Middle Eve.
Part III (prof. A. Pastore – 14h.): Utopia in the ideal society models from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment.
