Learning outcomes
The aims of the course are
1) reading of Poetic and Rhetoric,
(2) the philosophical consideration of art, imitation, beauty, passion, pleasure and
(3) the issue of the history of ideas and of concepts.
Contents of the course: Aristotle’s poetic and rhetoric. The course investigates two fundamental works of the history of Aesthetics: Aristotle’s Poetic and Rhetoric, from an historical and thematic point of view. Reading and comment of the most significant passages of the texts in relation to the author’s thought and to the historical-philosophical situation at the time.
