Learning outcomes

enhancement of the translating skills, grammatical, stylistic and literary-historical analysis, comprehension of the communicative dynamics of the texts that best symbolize the most important literary genres. Enhancement of the ability to do a metrical reading.

Syllabus

Pre-requirements: good knowledge of the Latin language.

Contents of the Course: Aeneas and Dido: a love between reflection and conflict. Reading of the IV book of Virgil’s Aeneid, and of the encounter between Aeneas and Dido in the Underworld (Verg. Aen. 6, 450-476).
