Introduction to the critical knowledge of the history of linguistic thought, also in the perspective of the problems of contemporary linguistic research.
Prerequisites: Basic concepts of general linguistics, e.g. those available in the handbook by G. Graffi & S. Scalise, Le lingue e il linguaggio, Bologna, Il Mulino, 2013, especially chapters 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7.
Content of course: History of generative grammar.
