Learning outcomes

The course aims to introduce students to medieval archeology, through case studies and examples of research.
Some of the main themes of the discipline will be provided, like landscape of castles, methodological approaches to archaeological data, etc.

Pre-registration is required, to allow planning, scheduling and working groups. Is required within 15 days of the start of the lessons an email indicating your name, surname, ID number, any archaeological experiences already carried out.

Syllabus

In this year we will consider archeology of the monastic structures and the construction of landscapes related to the monasteries.

6 hours general introduction to the discipline

12 hours archeology of monastic structures: examples and case studies. Methods and strategies of investigation. Educational output.

Texts and articles will be provided by the teacher during lectures.
