Learning outcomes

Forms and contexts of theatrical performance. The course is aimed at offering to the students the basic tools for the historical and critical analysis of the theatrical performance and of its connection with the different social and cultural contexts in which it originates and develops. The analysis will be focused in particular on Greek tragedy, Italian Renaissance comedy, Elizabethan tragedy, eighteenth century drama, contemporary experimental theatre
