Learning outcomes

This course aims at providing the tools for understanding the evolution, meaning and function of female fashion as it appears in the visual arts between XVth and XVIIIth century

Syllabus

This course takes into account some female portraits from Italy and Europe, spanning from the XVth to the XVIIth century, in order to study how fashion had developed and its main iconographic, social and political features.
