Learning outcomes

This course aims at favouring a philological approach to the texts of the Greek literature, by means of the study of their linguistic and stylistic features, and of their manuscript and printed traditions.
The knowledge of the Ancient Greek is required.

Syllabus

Aeschylus’ Choephori: Text and Performance.
Text and commentary: A.F. Garvie (ed.), Aeschylus. Choephori, Oxford, Clarendon Paperbacks 1986 (2002). See also: R. Sevieri (a cura di), Eschilo. Coefore, Venezia, Marsilio 2001.
Performance: the students will have read both Sophocles’ and Euripides’ Electras.
