Introduction to computer instruments oriented on journalism. Functioning and use. Analysis on how these instruments influence a journalist’ job.
The course will try to answer some main questions: -How many “kinds of journalism” do we have today, depending on different connected means of information (news-print, radio, tv, website, video)? Digital treatment of images, audio digital, digital cameras: how they’ve changed journalist’ profession? Can we identify differences and continuity between “traditional” and on-line journalism?
The course will be held alternately in journalistic and in informatics lessons (with lab hours) regarding: Text: what does producing a text means?. Images: how do we produce them and their relationship with written text. Sounds: production and assembling. Video: production and assembling. Iper-text and web: how do we create an iper-text and a web-page, differences between on-line and “traditional” journalism.
Final discussion and evaluation of a written product.
