The mirror is not a neutral object and is very rare in the iconography of the queen (ruling or consort). By this reason, the essay focuses on the main meanings (especially the queen's prudence) the mirror acquires when depicted in relation to a female sovereign and the way it is adjusted to convey a positive meaning without any doubt.
