skill in orientation through the main problems of the archaeological research in the territory providing the theoretical and practical basic elements on methodology, to be deepened by practicing them both on the ground and in laboratory.
Prerequisites: fundamental knowledge in history and archaeology.
Content of the course: The first part of the course shall be dedicated to theoretical issues: whereby the study of history and archaeology of the territory shall be combined with the analysis provided by other disciplines (with seminarian lessons held by experts) such as geomorphology, paleobotany, remote sensing, historical cartography and toponymy, ethnoarchaeology). The second part of the course shall provide practical classes, which will include exemplary case studies on applied methodology.
Teaching method: front lessons and seminars.
The attendance to classes is warmly recommended. Those who could not attend the classes are invited to agree with the professor alternative programmes. In any case alternative programmes shall include one more work to study among those indicated above.
