Curriculum

Corrado Viola (Biella 1964) is an italianist at the University of Verona, where he teaches (or taught) Italian literature, Genres and history of Italian literature, Didactics of literatures, Italian language. His researches are moving between the seventeenth and twentieth Centuries, but they focus mainly on the eighteenth Century. He has published volumes (editions and study monographs) on L.A. Muratori, the controversy Orsi-Bouhours, epistolography, lexicography, Arcadia and various essays on authors of the seven-twentieth Century (Zeno, Maffei, Metastasio, Parini, Alfieri, Pindemonte, Foscolo, Manzoni, Betteloni, Giacosa, Salgari, Gadda, Mancinelli, etc.). He founded and chairs the Centro di Ricerca sugli Epistolari del Settecento (Research Centre on Epistolary of the Eighteenth Century) (C.R.E.S.), of which he directs the editorial necklaces. He is member of the Centro di Ricerca Interdipartimentale sull'Europa Romantica (Scientific Council of the Interdepartmental Centre for Research on Italy in Romantic Europe) (C.R.I.E.R.), of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Society of Historical Studies on the eighteenth Century (SISSD) and of the Commission for the National Edition of the Works of Giuseppe Parini; Member of the Centro di Studi Muratoriani di Modena (Center of Muratorian Studies of Modena), of the Centro Pio Rajna of Rome, of the Association of the Italianists (ADI), of the Association of Theory and Comparative History of Literature (Compalit); Correspondent member of the Arcadia of Rome and the Accademia degli Agiati in Rovereto. It is part of the Scientific Council of the magazines «Text», «Symbolae antiquariae», «Archivum Mentis» and of the necklaces «Ottocento neoclassico e romantico», «Diciottesimo secolo» etc.

DEaMoNs research group – Digital early modern network
DEaMoNs works on the promotion of collective research projects; on the encounter (and possible fusion) between different spheres of the historical analysis; on the dissemination of the scientific results achieved by the members (through the organization of seminars and conferences); on the organization of workshops and other training activities about DH tools, networks reconstruction and connected histories.
