The course aims at proving how the development of modern science is connected to the social and cultural context, in relation to traditional concepts as cosmos and man.
Contents of the course: The birth of modern science in Europe. Reconstruction of the main steps concerning the scientific revolution from 1400 to 1700, in particular referring to ideas and institutions that have changed the image of nature and man.
Oral test.
NOTE: students in the four-year degree obtain the equivalent attending course (i) + (p).
