Lesson timetable

Learning outcomes

acquisition of general notions of cuneiform writing and of Assyrian -Babylonian language.

Syllabus

Contents of the course:
1) language and writing in Mesopotamia; features of the cuneiform system; the scribal curriculum; history of studies and codification;
2) the Assyrian -Babylonian language: elements of phonetics and morphology;
3)reading and translating of parts of the Hammurabi code.
