Learning outcomes

knowledge of the evolution of the Latin language from the Indo-European origins to the end of the Western Empire; acquisition of skills for the linguistic and stylistic analysis of Latin texts of different periods.

Syllabus

Contents of the course: aspects and problems of the history of the Latin language from the origins to the late imperial age; linguistic and stylistic comments of some Cicero’s letters.
