Learning outcomes

it aims to show the interrelations between scientific inquiry in biology and contemporary debates on religion and politics. It also intends to clarify the meaning and content of Darwin’s theory.

Syllabus

From biological transformism to evolutionary worldview. The course intends to explore the origin of a historical view of the living world in the Eighteenth century and the rise of the Darwinian theory of evolution.
Teaching methods: traditional lectures and discussions on relevant sources.
