Learning outcomes

The main object of this course is to introduce the world of Italian Melodrama of the Nineteenth Century.

Syllabus

The course is divided into two sections:
1) a quick “excursus’’ of the Histocy of Melodrama from the origins to the Nineteenth Century
2) listening and investigating significative passages of Italian Melodrama dealing with female characters (examples of Bellini, .Donizetti, Verdi)
