Curriculum

Mara Migliavacca is a proto-historic archaeologist, who studies Bronze and Iron ages. She is interested in the reconstruction of the ancient landscape, with a particular attention to pastoral landscapes and mining landscapes. She studied the Iron age settlements in the Alpine region, with attention both to permanent and seasonal dwellings. She co-directed and directed archaeological fieldwork, both surveys and excavation, in the Veneto mountain and prealpine area. She worked with soil scientists and chemists in order to study the anthrosoils affecting archaeological sites. She deals also with landscapes of power, with attention to the formation of the first polities or early states. She worked as archaeologist also at Creta, in Great Britain, Portugal and Switzerland; she is interested  to public archaeology, in order to promote the archaeologial sites.
