The Hidden Greek in the Palimpsests from the Biblioteca Capitolare in Verona (18 June: Biblioteca Capitolare - Piazza Duomo, 19; 19 June: Palazzo di Lingue - aula 2.5, Via San Francesco, 22).

The seminar aims to take stock of the progress made in the integrated study of Greek manuscripts CXX and CXXXIV from the Biblioteca Capitolare in Verona, two palimpsests from the Otranto area which, in their oldest layer, preserve extensive fragments of a wide variety of texts (liturgical, musical, homiletic, menological, etc.). The context is that of the MSCA DNS AntCom project, which has facilitated the multispectral digitisation of the manuscripts thanks to a fruitful collaboration with the Fondazione Biblioteca Capitolare and the support of the LaMeDan laboratory, based within the Department of Cultures and Civilisations. Computer scientists, palaeographers and Byzantinists will come together to engage in an interdisciplinary discussion on the study of these challenging and fascinating historical artefacts.
