Curriculum

My primary research goals are directed towards understanding ancient economy and Roman material culture using traditional typochronological methods combined to archaeometric analyses
and data manegement and statistical approaches. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Padua University and as post-graduate specialist at the Milan University I have examined different aspects of
production and supply of commodities and also analysed their distribution patterns within the Roman East and West. My future research plan are aimed at understanding broader cultural changes in order to investigate on why do trade networks emerge, persist, evolve and, on occasion, fail. I took part in numerous archaeological research projects in Italy and abroad: in Aquileia, Pompei, Calvatone-Bedriacum (Italy), Deultum (Bulgaria), Bruckneudorf (Austria). Beyond my research successes (including more than 35 articles e curatorships), I obtained a wide-range of teaching experiences. During my academic career I received different research fellowships, as the European Social Fund research grant, the Cariparo Foundation International PhD fellowship, the Post-lauream Research grant of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the RCRF fellowship for young researchers and the DAAD scholarship.
