Curriculum

My research focuses on Latin Language and Literature: in particular, my interest include Colloquial Latin; Gestures in Ancient Rome; Pragmatics of Communication applied to classical texts; Analysis of the art of Virgil’s Aeneid and Terence’s Comedies; Roman Mythical Lore, as tool capable of conveying and handling down models of thinking and pattern of behaviour (with special regard to Communication, Time, Space).

Comunicazione gestuale negli autori latini
Il gruppo studia forme della comunicazione verbale e gestuale nei testi latini: in particolare, approfondisce analisi e prospettive teoriche per una pragmatica del gesto e dei comportamenti corporei in vari generi letterari (epica, teatro, romanzo, satira, oratoria). La ricerca si inquadra nella più ampia cornice degli studi sulla pragmatica della comunicazione applicata ai testi latini.

Pragmatics of Communication in Classical Texts Application of this new methodology (of psychiatric and cybernetic origins) to classical texts. In general, the application of the pragmatics of communication to classical texts seems to be viable because some aspects of the pragmatic settings were already present in the theories of the ancients in relation to rhetorics or literary criticism.
