Curriculum

Full professor of Italian philology and linguistics (SSD 10 / F-3) University of Verona - Department of cultures and civilizations. Coordinator of the PhD in Philology, Literature and Performing Arts. Coordinator of the Laboratory of Medieval and Dante Studies (LaMeDan). He holds a PhD in Philology of Italian Literature (Humanistic philology). He was a visiting fellow at the K.U. Leuven, the Catholic University of Pilicsaba (Budapest), the Harvard University (Houghton Library), the Columbia University Italian Academy for Advanced Studies. He has been invited speaker at Columbia University, the University of Notre Dame, the New York University, the Normal University of Beijing, the University of Helsinki. He is coordinator of the Doctorate in Philology, Literature and Entertainment Sciences (University of Verona). Member of the scientific committee of the International Summer School of Dante Studies (Catholic University "S. Cuore" Milan - University of Verona). His research focuses on the figure and work of Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio; on the vernacular language and literature of the early centuries; on the classical tradition in Humanism; on the history of linguistics and philology. He writes for the cultural supplement Alias – Il Manifesto. He recently published Dante Alighieri. Una vita (Einaudi 2021) and Storie d'amore per lo studio (Einaudi 2023).
