Deep knowledge of the monographic topic of the course
Roy Lichtenstein and the advent of Pop Art. The course will deal with both the art critics debate concering Pop Art, in the early '60s, and the comparative analysis of Lichtenstein's artworks: their evolution toward a pop style; their mass-media source images; its painting technique; its relationship with the history of the avant-gardes; some aspects of Perception Theory
An anthology of texts will be provided by the teacher during the course.
