Il corso mira ad illustrare la natura concettuale del linguaggio umano fornendo un solido apparato teorico e metodologico.
Il corso si propone altresì di offrire gli strumenti di analisi per condurre una ricerca secondo la prospettiva della linguistica cognitiva.
Il corso prevede un’attenta disamina e una lettura critica di alcuni temi che precipuamente caratterizzano l’approccio linguistico cognitivista allo studio della lingua. Particolare attenzione verrà posta sui seguenti argomenti:
- Conceptual structure: embodiment as a basic principle
- Categorization and prototype theory
- Semantic frames (idealized cognitive models)
- Conceptual metaphor and metonymy
- Conceptual blending
