Learning outcomes

Introduction to Roman inscriptions written in Latin; acquaintance of the fundamentals concerning the use of inscriptions as historical sources.

Syllabus

Contents of the course. Taxonomy of inscriptions; inscription as a document and monument; Latin onomastics; Imperial titling; local and central administration; introduction to reading and edition of Latin inscriptions; epigraphy of production; epigraphy and information technology.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral test.

Students who can’t attend class must see the professor.
