Learning outcomes

The course is conceived as the second phase of the investigation of Greek literature in its diachronical development – from the Vth century’s theatre to the Hellenistic production – as well as in its exploitation patterns. The reading of the text in original language involves the investigation of language aspects, narrative structures and mythological material through a selection of examples and an adequate bibliography.

Syllabus

Contents of the course:
(1) General picture of Greek literature in the classic and Hellenistic age.
(2) Issues and patterns, from tragic to Hellenistic poetry.
