Learning outcomes

Knowledge of public and private collecting, mostly artistic; analysis of a museum

Contents of the course: Elements of Museology and collecting.
The module investigates the main dynamics pertaining the formation of public and private art collections, the conservation and management of works of art in relation to the historiographical and critical debate (with main reference to the Italian area from Middle Eve to the Twentieth century).

Written test concerning the text-books in the bibliography: a wide-ranging question to express orientation, development and connection of the elements (one hour and thirty minutes of time) and three quizzes in order to evaluate factual knowledge (ten minutes). Short oral test comprehending: discussion of the written test, integrative readings and at least, a compulsory description of a museum visited by the student and exposed in relation to the course.
