Learning outcomes

The course aims at investigating a specific subject of the (i) course, concentrating on one of the main artists that have introduce new patterns, techniques and languages in the Venetian figurative culture.

Contents of the course: Antonello da Messina. A “foreign” painter in Venice.
The course is dedicated to one of the main artists in the Italian figurative culture in the Renaissance: investigation of his works, from the Sicilian beginning to the huge Venetian season.

Oral test concerning the main events of the artist’s life in order to analyse one or more of his works from a critical point of view. The works of art will be around twenty: knowledge of the actual ubication, the represented subject, precedents of the collections and/or news pertaining the buyers is compulsory.
