Learning outcomes
The course aims at investigating the work of one of the main characters of the architectural culture during the Renaissance in Veneto: he who wrote the tractate “ The idea of Universal Architecture”, which made him well known in Europe.
Contents of the course: The course investigates a significant part of Scamozzi’s architectural work, tractates (“Discorsi sopra l’antichità di Roma”, 1582, “L’idea”, 1615), journals (“Taccuino di viaggio da Parigi a Venezia”, 1600) and testamentary legacy which will have consequences up to the XVIII century.
