Learning outcomes

introduction to the notion of “sign” and to the abstract features of the semiotic processes, with particular attention to the interface between sign and cognitive processes. The course will offer a historic perspective of the main semiotic notions as well.

Syllabus

Contents of the course: history of the concept of “sign” from antiquity to the 20th century; formal features of the semiotic processes.
