deepening of theoretical and methodological aspects of archaeology

Syllabus

Contents of the course: social complexity in archaeology. After starting with the most common definitions of social complexity in archaeology and anthropology, the course will then examine the fundamental theories from the second half of the XIX century till nowadays.
The theoretical part will be followed by a great variety of examples dating back to european prehistory.
