Learning outcomes

knowledge of important topics of social history of the Roman empire

Syllabus

Previous studies: knowledge of Roman history and Latin language at a basical level.

Subject of the course: Roman emperors and Mithraism.

Texts to be read:
1) Giuliano l’Apostata. Discorso su Helios re. Testo, traduzione e commento di A.Mastrocinque, Nordhausen, Bautz Verlag, 2011;
Didactic method: normal lessons will be held, the discussed passages and images will be given (also in translation) to the students. The texts will appear in the University web site. Students who are unable to attend the lessons will use the mp3 records, the texts, and images on the e-learning platform of the University.
