The students should be able to aquire the elements to read and critically explain a historical/artistic testimonies and literary testimonies in an artistic/historical setting,. The student should be able to examine analysis and comparisons on facts, expressing general lines of reasoning and deductions on the main subjects; consequently, the students should develop a smart use of the sources. The course intends to give tools for a correct speaking ability discussing historical and artistic problems, critical and historical, iconological analysis of a work of art. The student should be able to use the specific glossary of the specific sector selected.
The entire course, generally devoted to the HISTORY OF ART CRITICISM, will pertain to the field of MUSEUM STUDIES; its goal is to confront students with a number of highly professionalizing issues.
The part held by Dr. Manoli regards safety and accessibility of the cultural heritage, such as safety management, education activities, cultural mediation and communication with specific attention to the needs of the different audiences.
Written exam (unless the COVID-19 situation will recommend to have online exams also next January and February). The exam consists of six questions, three for the part of Dr. Manoli, and three for the part of Prof. Galizzi Kroegel.
For the part taught by Dr. Manoli, all the three questions will require the discussion of one of the issues analyzed in class.
Each answer will be graded from 1 to 5 point, so that the total of six correct answers will be 30 points. Students will have a total of two hours for the whole exam; both parts of the exam must be taken in the same session.
