Learning outcomes

the course aims at providing operative actions with whom professionally or institutionally operates in the field of architectural restoration. The course is divided into three parts: a general one, analysing the paths through which theories and methodologies of architectural restoration have developed in the European culture thank to forerunners such as Viollet-Le-Duc and John Ruskin; another part verifying operative aspects through examples.

Syllabus

Contents of the course: history and development of architectural restoration theories (international documents; from monuments restoration to conservation of environmental assets; interventions); activities on the field through examples taken from the recent operations and planning related to Colle S. Pietro and the Roman Theatre in Verona.
