Learning outcomes

The course of Roman history aims to: - develop the ability to analyze, translate and comment some literary sources related to the main aspects of Roman history; - promote the skills to analyze these sources autonomously and critically, also through debates and discussions in the class; - upgrade the knowledge of some basic themes of Roman history by comparing the various literary sources and between these and other types of documentation. At the end of the course the student must be able to: - understand, analyze, critically comment and translate the literary sources examined in the course; - place the works examined within the contemporary historiographic debate; - be able to communicate the acquired knowledge, showing sufficient analytical and argumentative skills and with an adequate vocabulary.
