Curriculum

Edoardo Bianchi is Temporary Lecturer in Ancient Greek History. His main areas of interest are as follows: the history of the Mediterranean area in the Archaic Age; the relations between Greeks, Etruscans and the Romans (VI-IV centuries BCE); the relations between Greeks and Romans in modern historiography; the Julio-Claudian era.

The members aim at a reconsideration of the historical dynamics of interactions in the framework of a renewed methodological approach, which imposes to abandon one-sided perspectives, strictly Greek or Oriental, to undertake a truly comprehensive analysis and comparison of the documentation.

My research focuses on: the history of the Mediterranean basin in the Archaic period; the political and cultural relations between the Greeks, the Romans and the Etruscans (VI-III centuries BCE); modern historiographical perspectives on Archaic Greece and Rome.
