The Memorie per servire all’istoria letteraria and the Raccolta d’opuscoli scientifici e filologici are not Enlightenment periodicals, but it is interesting to observe how these journals have presented to their readers themes and works of writers like Voltaire, allowing the diffusion of enlightenment ideas in Italy. These periodicals, along with others more clearly oriented to the communication of enlightenment ideas, are still interesting models of dissemination of knowledge. They aimed to bring correct information to the economically weakest social strata, placing themselves on a European and international horizon, but defending an Italian perspective. In addition, they created textual formulas and journalistic structures that were then new and that, deeply renewed, can be found in some forms of contemporary digital communication.
