interferenza linguistica, prestiti latini, opere lessicografiche antiche
Short description of contents:
In the framework of studies on the language contact and linguistic interference, the present contribution aims to offer a selection of 18 Latin lexical entries in some Greek lexicographical works written between 10th and 12th centuries (Etymologica and Suda), according to the criterion of the presence of the Greek adverb Ρωμαϊστί ‘in the language of Rome’ or ‘in Latin’. Despite being completely partial and circumscribed, such a micro corpus of Latin loanwords in ancient Greek still allows to highlight the levels of linguistic analysis involved (in particular phonological and morphological, as individual words) and at the same time to observe the metalinguistic strategies employed by the lexicographer to describe different phenomena of acclimatisation or integration of loans.
