Short description of contents:
In this paper, I will re-examine the evidence for the interpretation of a complex compound logogram of the Hieroglyphic Luwian syllabary, PES(2). SCALA.ROTAE. I will also offer an improved interpretation of the text of the Körkün stela. Finally, I will tentatively suggest that the specific meaning of the compound logogram PES(2).SCALA may depend on the contact with the semiotic inventory of the cuneiform writing system.
