Curriculum

Caterina Martinelli is  ricercatrice confermata nel SSD M-GGR/01 (Geografia). Si è occupata di temi legati alla rigenerazione urbana, all’immigrazione, al turismo e al cibo. Negli ultimi anni ha approfondito l’approccio culturale alla geografia, anche attraverso periodi di formazione e ricerca all’estero, in particolare nel Regno Unito. I suoi interessi di ricerca recenti si focalizzano su:
Recent research interests focus on:
  • Specificities of the Anglophone Cultural Geography and its relationship with the international Human Geography
  • The cultural approach to the Geography of Tourism
  • Issues related to the production and circulation of knowledge with a focus on the Anglo-American hegemony in the production of international geographical knowledge
  • Spatial practices with a focus on issues related to identity, embodiment, diversity and negotiations.

MiCuTer - migrazioni culture e territori
ll gruppo è composto principalmente da studiose/i di antropologia e geografia. Svolge da anni indagini sulle migrazioni intese come fenomeno complesso e multidimensionale che intreccia componenti culturali, sociali, economiche e territoriali in tutti i contesti implicati a scala locale e non. La ricerca è intesa come strumento di conoscenza reciproca e volano per l’implementazione di buone pratiche per la convivenza con l'intento di proporre soluzioni condivise utili per l'implementazione di iniziative e policy destinate alle/ai migranti. Si avvale di contributi internazionali.

Cultural Geography Dynamics related to the production and circulation of geographical knowledge. The research focuses on the power relations which characterize these aspects at international level and analyses the mechanisms which sustain them.
